Score received a USD $89 million contract to deliver valve solutions in support of the Royal Canadian Navy’s River-Class Destroyers (RCD) program. This is currently the largest and most complex shipbuilding project in Canada.
The Canadian Government awarded Irving Shipbuilding the implementation contract to construct the first three RCDs. Under the agreement, Irving appointed Score to supply the valves. All are critical components of the piping systems, which transport hydraulic oil, high-pressure air, water, and other fluids essential to each ship’s performance.
Score was awarded the RCD contract based on its established Canadian operations and expertise in the Global Combat Shipbuilding Program.
The work will be completed at Score’s facility in Paradise, Newfoundland. The RCD ships are scheduled to replace the Halifax-class frigates, forming the backbone of Canada’s future naval combat capabilities.
