Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) and Carlyle Energy Mezzanine Opportunities Group will be financing to build the USD 225 million Plainfield Renewable Energy biomass project in Connecticut, USA. The Enova Energy Group owned project will power 37,000 households by generating 37.5MW of clean energy. Based on a 15-year off-take agreement, the power generated will be purchase by Connecticut Light and Power.
Under fixed date and price conditions, SAIC will provide the procurement, engineering and construction services. The facility will use wood waste to produce renewable energy using a low-risk gasification process and the best available control technology to control resulting emissions. The project is expected to be complete by the end of 2013.
