Rotork expanded its portfolio of flow control and actuator technologies with the RTP-4000 range, the UK-company’s latest generation of intelligent valve positioners to optimize control solutions for single- and double-acting actuators on rotary and linear valves.
Rotork launches the range with the dual-certified RTP-4400. The initial release supports extreme oil & gas applications as well as other demanding industrial environments requiring high-end valve control solutions.

End users in the field and operators in process industries will appreciate its simplified installation and commissioning, premium online diagnostics, as well as its seamless system integration for fast, energy-efficient operation.

“With the RTP-4000 range, we are meeting the requirements of the high-end process industries,” said Juha Kivelä, Global Product Manager – Pneumatic Actuation and Instrumentation at Rotork.
“The smart design features will help to achieve greater operational efficiency and give peace of mind in the most challenging applications.”
Enhanced Reliability
Among the RTP-4400’s robust components are copper-free aluminium and electronic circuits that are potted in resin to ensure reliability in harsh conditions. An Arctic option is available to extend its temperature range down to -67°F. Additionally, magnet-based contactless position feedback minimizes mechanical wear to support long-term reliability for both linear and rotary actuators.
The unit’s advanced pressure sensor-based diagnostics offers operators real-time device status and predictive maintenance capabilities information directly online. A user-friendly dashboard is also integrated for clear, at-a-glance visibility into valve performance and condition. Designed for seamless integration, the RTP-4000 connects effortlessly with all major control and asset management systems, while its dual certification ensures safe and compliant operation in explosion-proof and intrinsically safe environments.

More performance is provided through its high pneumatic capacity. This enables rapid valve operation and optimized supply air consumption to help customers achieve greater efficiency and lower operational costs. To accommodate more specific applications, other options include analogue and digital outputs, pressure gauges, and support for Emergency Shutdown (ESD) with partial stroke testing capability.
