Texas-based Romar Supply, a wholesaler of pipe, valve, fittings and fabricated steel services, recently celebrated 30 years in the market, and continues to dominate as a certified Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE). The company was founded in 1983 by Roy Adair and family. Roanne Adair Lasater soon joined Romar which became a WBE and also a certified Historically Underutilized Business and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise.
To be certified as a woman-owned enterprise in the United States, a woman must have ownership of at least 51 percent of the company and hold the highest position in the organization. She must also be actively involved in management and the company’s strategic direction, in addition to being a US citizen.
