Power plant upgrade set for Texas

The Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) has awarded Fluor Corp an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for its new 540MW combined cycle Ferguson Replacement Project near Marble Falls, Texas. Once environmental permits are granted, Fluor will proceed with the project to replace the 37-year-old, 420MW Thomas C. Ferguson Power Plant which is currently a single-unit, natural gas-fired plant.
