Powell to supply valves with Chesterton technology

The Wm. Powell Company and A.W. Chesterton Company, announced an agreement in which Chesterton will become the exclusive supplier of the low-emissions packing technology in Powell Valves.

The agreement allows Powell to produce valves with low-emissions packing technology that are compliant with the new API 624 standard for industrial fugitive emissions and meet the latest Environmental Protection Agency regulations. Powell Valves with Chesterton’s 1622 Low-E packing technology will allow end users to meet the new EPA requirements.

“Coupling the high quality and engineering standards of Powell and Chesterton into a strategic relationship to get out in front of this new standard is extremely important to our refining and chemical end-user customers”, Randy Cowart, president of Powell Valves, said. “For them, knowing that there is a major valve manufacturer like Powell who can deliver this standard today with a proven partner in Chesterton should certainly put their minds at ease. We are very upbeat about our partnership with Chesterton.”

Brian O’Donnell, president and CEO of Chesterton, added, “Chesterton is proud to partner with The Wm. Powell Company to serve this emerging need in the market. The combination of Powell Valves and Chesterton sealing technologies allows customers to meet the challenge of tighter emissions standards with two companies that they know and trust.”
