Polyethylene recycling plant in Spain

Trex Company, manufacturer of Trex® Easy Care Decking®, has announced the company’s participation in a joint venture, named Denplax SA, to recycle polyethylene at a new facility in El Ejido, Spain. The other joint venture partners are a local Spanish company responsible for public environmental programmes in southern Spain, and an Italian equipment manufacturer. The plant is designed to recycle waste polyethylene generated primarily from agricultural applications. The advanced cleaning system employed in the facility produces polyethylene suitable for use in Trex Company’s Wood-Polymer ™ lumber manufacturing process. When fully operational, the plant will generate more than 20,000 tons of recycled plastic annually.
