Petrofac receives contract for LPG project

Jersey-based oil services group Petrofac has picked up a USD $600 million contract to develop a major liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) project in Oman. The three-year contract, with a subsidiary of the state-owned Oman Oil Facilities Development Company, will see Petrofac carry out the engineering, procurement and construction of the Salalah LPG project in the south of the country.

Petrofac has already worked on initial engineering and design for the development, which will recover butane, propane and condensates from the existing gas system. The company, which is heavily focused on work in the Middle East, has said it continues to see strong opportunities to bid for projects for national oil companies in the region.
