Pentair launches API 2000 complaint valves

Pentair Valves & Controls, with branches in North and South America, has launched its new Anderson Greenwood 4000 Series of pressure and vacuum relief valves, compliant with the latest API 2000 standard. Pentair Valves & Controls describes the valves as the first high capacity full lift valves verified to meet the requirements of the seventh edition of API 2000, which covers normal and emergency vapour venting requirements for bulk liquid storage tanks.

The valves are engineered to provide increased flow capacities and will fully open at 10% overpressure, helping protect tanks from physical damage caused by internal pressure fluctuations. As a result, the valves can be set more closely to a storage tank’s maximum allowable working pressure (MAWP) or maximum allowable working vacuum (MAWV), enabling customers to fill and empty tanks more quickly, and operate them at higher pressures. The 4000 Series valves remain closed longer and enhance flow capacity, resulting in increased productivity and reduced evaporation.
