Parker’s IPDE achieves IATF 16949 certification

Parker’s Instrumentation Products Division Europe (IPDE) has secured International Automotive Task Force (IATF) 16949 certification for its tube fittings, pressure regulators and valve products.

The certification one of the most stringent indicators of manufacturing quality in the bus and truck transportation supply chain was awarded following a five-stage independent audit conducted by certification body Bureau Veritas. This highlights Parker’s robust approach to quality management systems and processes and reinforces its position as the global leader in motion and control technologies.

IATF 16949 standard requires all support functions to be included within the quality management scope. To achieve compliance, IPDE personnel in Barnstaple, UK worked with colleagues in three remote locations: Parker’s sales companies in Sweden and Spain, and its European distribution facility in Germany.

The in-depth audit took six-person days and covered all supply chain functions and processes. This included customer care, human resources, IT, quotations, engineering, planning, production, purchasing, quality, dispatch, shipping, and assembly. All four locations were audited, including mapping process flows and interactions between services. And all four locations passed the rigorous requirements required to meet the standard.
