Parker Hannifin Launches Ultra Low Carryover Valve

The Precision Fluidics Division of Parker Hannifin Corporation recently released their new Ultra Low Carryover Valve, a miniature liquid solenoid valve. The Ultra Low Carryover Valve utilizes a patent pending design to create a well swept and small internal volume resulting in best-in-class carryover performance.

Increasing the number of samples that can be processed per hour is a common goal in the industry, and the Ultra Low Carryover Valve was engineered to meet this need by enabling fluid circuitry simplification and reducing the required wash time within the instrument.

The valve is suitable for a variety of different liquids and can achieve a water flow rate of up to 395 ml/min at 45 psi (3 bar). With an internal volume of 4.3 µl diaphragm seal to common port and exceptionally well swept fluid path, the Ultra Low Carryover Valve provides leading carryover performance. The Ultra Low Carryover Valve requires only a third of the amount of liquid to clean out to less than 10 ppm carryover level. Because of the valve’s unique individually actuated channels, it can be operated in four different states, eliminating the need for two separate valves.
