An elastomer valve is a valve that uses a driving mechanism to force close a sleeve made from a type of rubber or chemical resistant sleeve. This is much like kinking a water hose to shut off or shoot the water at a sibling except elastomer valves are pinched using a press or charged air to pinch the sleeve inside the valve body; hence the name pinch valve.
There are many benefits from using a pinch valve over some metallic valves, and they are becoming a popular choice once again due to new elastomer and pinching technology.
