New polyethylene units operating in Texas

Chevron Phillips Chemical Co. LLC has successfully completed commissioning and begun start-up of its new polyethylene units in Old Ocean, Texas, USA. Each unit will produce up to 500,000 tpy to service the ever-increasing global demand for polyethylene.

Chevron Phillips Chemical’s Marlex® polyethylene resin, which is produced at Old Ocean, will be delivered to customers in North America and to strategic transloading facilities across the US for export to all regions of the world.

Chevron Phillips Chemical currently expects to complete construction and begin commissioning the ethane cracker by 1Q18, with a transition to full production during 2Q18.
