The Manufacturers Standardization Society (MSS) of the Valve and Fittings Industry recently announced that SP-94-2020, Quality Standard for Steel Castings and Forgings for Valves, Flanges, Fittings, and Other Piping Components – Ultrasonic Examination Method, has been updated and published.
The revised Standard Practice, MSS SP-94-2020, is now available from authorized U.S. and global distributors. It has been published in an electronic version (PDF) and in book format.
Standard Practice (SP)-94 has served as an industry norm for almost 40 years; providing methods and acceptance standards for ultrasonic examination of austenitic, ferritic, and martensitic steel castings and forgings for valves, flanges, fittings, and other piping components. This Standard Practice is applicable to the initial examination of castings and forgings and towards the examination of repairs. SP-94 is maintained under the consensus of MSS Technical Committee 304, Quality Standards.
