MSS Publishes Revised Standard for Knife Gate Valves

The Manufacturers Standardization Society (MSS) of the Valve and Fittings Industry announced that SP-146-2024, Knife Gate Valves: Iron High Pressure, Wafer-, and Flange-Type, has been revised and published by MSS.

This Standard Practice covers the construction requirements for high pressure wafer- and flange-type iron knife gate valves.

This Standard Practice covers flanged body designs compatible with the following ASME standardized flanges:

a) 1 Class 125 flanges for sizes NPS 2 (DN 50) through NPS 60 (DN 1500);

b) 1 Class 250 flanges for sizes NPS 2 (DN 50) through NPS 48 (DN 1200);

c) 42 Class 150 and 300 flanges for sizes NPS 2 (DN 50) through NPS 24 (DN 600).

SP-146 continues to be maintained under the consensus of MSS Technical Committee 409, Knife Gate Valves.
