Monitoring valves at HollyFrontier’s Navajo Refinery

Valve World Americas had the pleasure of interviewing Mr. Ray Smalts, an Environmental Specialist at HollyFrontier Navajo Refining in Artesia, New Mexico. 

The HollyFrontier Navajo Refinery, in which Ray Smalts works as an Environmental Specialist, has a nameplate crude oil capacity of approximately 100,000 barrels per day. It can process heavy, sour and light, sweet crude oils, and runs a predominant slate of Permian Basin crudes that are gathered in West Texas and Southeast New Mexico. The Navajo refinery serves markets in the south- western USA and northern Mexico.
