Mokveld Presents Low Shear Typhoon Valve System

Mokveld, a global provider to the gas and oil industry with expert knowledge and advanced engineered valve systems for critical control and safety applications, recently presented a virtual workshop about its low shear Typhoon Valve System.

The workshop by Kee Jun Kon, titled “High yield improvement of produced water quality without additional treatment,” was a part of the discussion about Produced Water Treatment from Aging Assets and Mature Fields.

The traditional method of separating the phases from an emulsified oil/water stream is by adding heat to the fluid. With the implementation of the low shear Typhoon Valve System less heat input is required to separate the phases, reducing the loss of oil volume and API gravity. This is a simple and efficient solution to enhance oil-water separation and achieve compliance to corporate goals for a sustainable production of fossil fuels in an environmentally sound matter.
