Louis Dreyfus Highbridge Energy acquires TX plant

Through one of its subsidiaries, Louis Dreyfus Highbridge Energy LLC has acquired a natural gas-fired peaking facility, Wichita Falls in Wichita County, Texas from Signal Hill Power LLC. The facility is a 77megawatt plant that uses GE gas turbines with associated heat recovery steam generators and an AB steam generator. It is strategically located near the flourishing Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area and during peak demand and/or supply volatility periods, supplies power to the ERCOT West market.
Michael Dowling, head of business development and president of LDH Energy’s assets business said that the “acquisition exemplifies our investment philosophy of focusing no quality assets that are well-positioned to service key markets in which we participate and that compliment our existing merchant activities.” Dowling also said that as the company’s inaugural investment in the power generation sector, that the acquisition will build their successful track record of investing in midstream energy assets. LDH Energ6y intends to actively pursue further investment opportunities in power and natural resources sector.
