Interventek develops 20K in-riser valve

Interventek Subsea Engineering, has developed an ultra-high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) version of their Revolution safety valve for in-riser landing string systems, the 20K in-riser Revolution valve.

The new product line was developed to support the industry as it advances into more challenging HPHT, deepwater well environments, particularly in the Gulf of Mexico. This new shear and seal valve is designed to withstand working pressures of 20,000psi (20K) and temperatures up to 350°F.

It uses Interventek’s Revolution valve technology, which uses separate cutting and sealing components to prevent the seal from being compromised. It is designed to endure testing over many hundreds of cycles and is specifically aimed towards meeting the API 17G industry standards.
