IMI Invests in Process Automation Business in South America Through New Facility

IMI has opened a new site at Jardim Iporanga, Sorocaba, Brazil, as part of a substantial investment in its Process Automation business in South America. The new facility combines IMI’s distribution, field service and repair of control valves with its petrochemical operations to support its rapidly growing team in the region.

Alongside enhancing efficiency, collaboration and logistics, the move also provides state-of-the-art facilities to support the increased demand for IMI’s products and services. Over the past five years, IMI has invested more than BRL R$3.5 million in tools, with more than BRL R$116 million invested in suppliers. These investments have been matched by increasing productivity, with more than 1,900 valves installed throughout Brazil.

The news follows the announcement of a new agent collaboration for Brazil between IMI and FAC Engenharia. The collaboration enabled FAC Engenharia to market products and services from IMI product brands, including IMI CCI, IMI Fluid Kinetics, IMI Orton and IMI STI, providing extensive on-site support to customers throughout Brazil.
