Hunt Valve wins Salem award

Salem, Ohio-based Hunt Valve recently received a Salem Area Safety Council Safety Award from the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation. The company’s employees were recognized for working an entire year without any lost time due to injury or illness. Hunt Valve specializes in severe-duty valves and complementary engineered components and system solutions for applications that include primary metals (steel, aluminum), energy (nuclear, hydro, downstream oil & gas), process (chemical), and U.S. Navy nuclear-powered vessels, including all submarines and carriers in operation as well as the Virginia Class, Ford Class and soon-to-be-in-production Ohio Replacement.

The Salem Area Safety Council, a division of the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce, is co-sponsored with the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Division of Safety & Hygiene. Each year, the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation presents the Safety Awards in four categories to qualifying companies that demonstrate a commitment to maintaining workplace safety. Hunt Valve received the honor in the 100% Award category for going an entire year without any employee suffering a work-related injury/disease that resulted in taking off work past the day of an accident, loss of wages or a permanent disability.
