Houston: Valve Essentials & Fugitive Emissions courses

During the first week of May 2018, Valve World is presenting two educational courses taking place in Houston, Texas. There are a few spots left if you are interested in attending! 
The Valve Essentials Course will be held Tuesday May 1, 2018 from 9:00am to 5:00pm at the Royal Sonesta Houston Galleria Hotel and will cover the following topics: 

Basic introduction to flow control 
Quarter-turn valves – including ball, plug and butterfly valves 
Common design features – such as end connections, gaskets, bonnets, stems, stem seals, seats, backseats and trims 
Self-acting valves – such as check valves 
Multi-turn valves – including gate, globe, needle, pinch and diaphragm valves 
Valve Applications – such as oil & gas production and transportation, refining, LNG, power generation, chemical processing and utility lines 
Topics relating to valve ratings, materials, testing and more 
Problems, installation and maintenance 

This course is ideally suited for professionals looking for a generalized outline of valve systems and equipment, anyone looking to renew or update their knowledge base, and valve distributors/ manufacturers’ sales representatives looking to expand their understanding of the products. 
The Fugitive Emissions Course will be held Thursday May 3, 2018 from 9:00am to 5:00pm at United Valve and will cover the following topics:

The history of fugitive emissions testing 
Terms and definitions 
Industry practices and implementation 
Types of equipment 
Manufacturing process improvements 
Packing Manufacturer’s Fugitive Emission “Best Available Control Technology (BACT)” 
Improvements for the future 
Problems, installation and maintenance 

This course is ideally suited for professionals looking for a generalized outline of fugitive emissions testing, standards and related topics, anyone looking to renew or update their knowledge base on this subject, and anyone interested in expanding their understanding of LDAR, EPA requirements and testing procedures, and equipment used in mitigating fugitive emissions. 
The cost to attend each one-day session is $499 USD. This price also includes a certificate of completion; lunch, snack and drinks; a print copy of Valve World Americas Journal; a digital subscription to Valve World Americas Journal; and Valve Essentials or Fugitive Emissions Workbook with notes from the courses.
