The government of Guyana has given the go-ahead for the construction of a USD $500 million oil and gas services centre to be built on the coast of the South American country.
In May 2015, ExxonMobil made a huge oil discovery offshore the former British colony. It estimated the find in the Stabroek block at between 800 million and 1.4 billion equivalent barrels.
The planned services centre will be located about 62 miles southeast of the Guyana capital Georgetown.
