Energy Coalition New York formed by utilities

Energy Coalition New York has been formed by six investor-owner New York State electric and natural gas utilities. The coalition consists of Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation, Consolidated Edison Inc., National Grid, New York State Electric & Gas Corporation Inc., National Fuel Gas Distribution Corporation and Rochester Gas and Electric Corporation. It was formed to provide public policy leadership on energy issues and be an educational and informational resource for the public and media. To reduce environmental emissions, control customer costs, promote energy efficiency and economic development, the coalition will work with state legislature and the governor. The companies involved in the coalition operate most of New York’s natural gas and electric, serving more than 8.5 million customers, employing over 32,000 people and paying over USD 3 billion in taxes, fees and assessments.
