Missouri-based Emerson has been selected to retrofit outdated controls at the Elektrik Uretim Ambarli A combined-cycle power plant (CCGT) in Istanbul, Turkey.
The company says replacing the aging controls with its unified Ovation platform is expected to improve the reliability of the plant, which supplies electricity to western Istanbul. The contract was awarded by TEMSAN, the government-owned organization leading the project.
Ambarli A consists of three, 450 MW power blocks, each in a 2x2x1 configuration, with a total generating capacity of 1350 MW. The project is expected to be completed by March, 2018.
