Valves are used in many industrial sectors across the globe. Each sector has varying design and feature requirements while sharing basic industry standards, such as ASME, API, ASTM and ISO. When it comes to addressing the needs of upstream, midstream and downstream markets, manufacturers like International Standard Valve, Inc. (ISV) aim to design valves that meet the needs of each of these demanding applications. 

Valve World Americas had the opportunity to speak with Michael O’Quinn, President of ISV, about the process of creating quality designs, what impacts the total cost of ownership of a valve, and what can be done to lower those costs.
