Cross Company, a North Carolina-based sales and integration firm that provides industrial process improvement technology, such as valve automation, and equipment, has broken ground on a 22,000-square-foot facility that will combine the company’s two Knoxville divisions and provide room for them to add staff.
According to Jason Hicks, president of the instrumentation group. “We’ve added a lot of staff and we’re going to continue. We need room to do the value-added work in a warehouse and panel shop and valve automation center.” The integrated systems group, led by Richard Consoli, designs and builds equipment such as control panels for manufacturing automation processes, like valve automation, as well as software programming for the systems.
Cross is investing at least $3.5 million in the new facility, which will add about 7,000 square feet to the company’s facilities here, compared with the current combined space. It’s expected to be up and running by May.
