Change to Keystone XL route proposed

An official has told The Associated Press that the U.S. State Department is considering a plan that would reroute the proposed $7 billion Keystone XL oil pipeline from Canada. The current proposed route sends the pipeline through the Ogallala aquifer, which supplies water to eight states. While a final decision has not been made, the potential change would delay a final decision on the project until after the election in 2012.
