Crestview invest USD100 million in Silver Creek

Irving, Texas-based privately-held oil and gas exploration and production company, Silver Creek Oil & Gas, LLC has received a USD100 million investment from New York-based private equity firm Crestview Partners.

Voith Hydro signs hydroelectric contract

   Voith Hydro announced that is has received a contract for the Red Rock Hydroelectric Project on the Des Moines River near Pella, Iowa, to provide turbines and generators.

OGX declares Waikiki commercial field

OGX Petroleo e Gas Participacoes SA, Brazilian independent driller declared its Waikiki oil field commercial, its first commercial declaration of an offshore oil discovery.   To be renamed Tubarao Martelo or hammerhead shark, in following with the Brazilian custom of renaming producing oil fields after marine animals, the oil field development plan is being finalized to be submitted to Brazil's National Petroleum Agency.

Santee Cooper finds possible nuclear unit buyer

Santee Cooper has another possible buyer interested in part of its stake in two new nuclear units under construction in the Midlands.  The state-owner utility signed a letter of intent with Columbus, OH-based American Municipal Power Inc.

GE Energy opens Chile manufacturing plant

   Anadarko Petroleum Corporation awarded a lump sum contract to Technip for the development of the Lucius Field.

BASF names Fluor North America engineering partner

BASF has named Fluor Corporation as its North American chemicals capital project engineering partner. Fluor was awarded an umbrella services agreement by BASF for an undisclosed contract value.  The agreement will cover the providing of services such as conceptual and front-end engineering and design, detailed engineering, procurement, project management and construction management services.

Major companies join for Alaskan resource developm

   ConocoPhillips, BP, TransCanada and ExxonMobil have announced that they are working together on the next level of Alaskan resource development through their participation in the Alaska Pipeline Project.
