New air separation plant opens in North Dakota

MATHESON has just finished construction on a large capacity air separation unit in Dickinson, North Dakota. The plant, Dickinson ASU, is intended to fulfil the growing demand for merchant liquid nitrogen and oxygen in the region.

Duke Energy to build gas plant in US

The American energy company, Duke Energy Carolinas, has announced its plan to operate a 750-megawatt natural gas-fired combined cycle plant. The scheduled location is the existing Lee Steam Station site in Anderson County, South Carolina.

Cimarex to acquire Cana-Woodford assets

Cimarex Energy signed a purchase and sale agreement to acquire oil and gas assets in the Cana-Woodford shale play in Western Oklahoma for USD 497.4M in cash. Cimarex also entered into an agreement with Devon Energy to sell at closing a 50% interest in these assets for USD248.

Blaise Energy powers CNG plant with wellhead gas

Blaise Energy announced they are using flare gas to supply the electrical power for a major oil operator producing CNG fuel. Blaise successfully paralleled five natural-gas–powered generators providing 1MW of power for the oil operator’s CNG compressor.

ARP to acquire low decline oil properties

Atlas Resource Partners (ARP) entered into a definitive agreement to acquire total reserves of approximately 47 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMboe) of oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs), including proved developed producing reserves of approximately 25Mmboe, for USD 420M.

HII to acquire UniversalPegasus International

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) has entered into an agreement to acquire UniversalPegasus International Holdings (UPI), a provider of engineering and project management services to the domestic and international energy markets.

Regency Energy Partners to construct NGL pipeline

Regency Energy Partners will construct a new processing plant and NGL pipeline at Regency’s Dubberly facility in North Louisiana. The project will include the addition of a new 200MMcfd cryogenic processing plant at the existing Dubberly facility, which will accept gas directly from Regency’s recently completed Dubberly gathering trunkline.

Wood Group supports Subsea Well Response Project

The engineering company Wood Group Kenny, has provided support to the Subsea Well Response Project (SWRP), which is a joint industry project to further improve the prevention of, as well as response to, subsea well-control incidents.

BP sells four of its Alaska assets

BP is selling four of its oilfields, located on the North Slope of Alaska, to the exploration company Hilcorp. The sale agreement includes all of BP’s interests in the Endicott and Northstar oilfields and a 50 percent interest in each of the Liberty and the Milne Point fields.

Weir and MTU partner to develop fracking power systems

Weir Oil & Gas has recently joined with MTU to develop power systems that are engineered for use during hydraulic fracturing that occurs during the completion stage of shale oil and gas projects.
