Extra shut-off valves recommended for MN pipeline

J.R. Merit wins butterfly valve contract

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a contract worth $3.6 million to J.R. Merit Inc. for the supply of replacement penstock butterfly valves to be used at the 49-MW Lost Creek hydropower project on Oregon’s Rouge River.

ATI names new regional sales manager

Automation Technology Inc. (ATI) has named Mr. Bart Dunaway as the regional sales manager for the company’s sales team. His responsibilities will include developing outside sales and building customer relations.

Pulp mill shutting down for valve repairs, etc.

The Northern Pulp mill located in Abercrombie Point, Nova Scotia is planning a 15-day maintenance shutdown on May 30th, to install a new electrostatic precipitator. But the mill’s general manager, Bruce Chapman, has said it will not restart until the precipitator is operational, which could be in late June or early July.

Valve World Americas workshop: Applying adapter tools

Valve World Americas will be held this summer on July 15th and 16th at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. From 10:30am to noon on the first morning of the conference, three workshops will be held concurrently.

Chesterton begins new corporate facility expansion

At the end of last month, the A.W. Chesterton Company broke ground on an extensive expansion project at its Groveland Massachusetts facility.
