Areva to supply Monticello nuclear plant

Areva and U.S. utility Xcel Energy have signed a USD500 million integrated fuel supply contract to supply Minnesota’s Monticello nuclear power plant. The General Electric BWR-3 design plant, has a current output of 613MW.

Proportion-Air QB3 control valve

Proportion-Air Inc.’s new QB3 control valve allows users to improve space efficiency by manifold mounting the QB3 electronic pressure regulator on a high density space saving manifold. All models of QB3 control valve may be manifold mounted, including vacuum control, vacuum through positive pressure, absolute pressure, and standard gauge pressure models.

Scalable manifold adapts to any application

The Festo MPA-L valve manifold is scalable down to a single valve slice, so directional valves can be adapted to any application. The sub-base is made from a rugged polymer design that offers good corrosion resistance and light weight.

Nuclear construction to restart in U.S.

The new Westinghouse AP1000 type nuclear reactors are to be installed in the new builds at Alvin W. Vogtle Electric Generating Plant in Georgia and the Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Generating Station in South Carolina.

New HART software released

Top Line announces new 3-Way ball valves

Top Line’s new, easy to operate three-way sanitary ball balves divert to L or T port flow patterns. With rugged construction enabling a longer service life, these valves can be utilized where tight shut off is needed and maintain and regulate high volume, high pressure and high temperature flow.

Triple M scores valve order from Petrobras

Triple M Upstream, a division of Brazil-based Triple M, has secured 3 important orders to manufacture special rubber seated butterfly Mack valves for Petrobras. In a package of more than $300,000 calling for 70 valves, Triple M will supply Duplex Trim Valves following the API 609 Class A requirements.

Replacement cartridges offered for ball valves

Colonial Engineering has introduced two series of replacement cartridges for True Union Ball Valves. The CCR series fits Nibco Chemtrol Tru-Bloc TUBVs while the VCR series fits Colonial Full Block series TUBVs.
