BP has awarded Jacobs Engineering Group with a contract to provide engineering, design and procurement services for the Coker Heater Replacement project at the BP Cherry Point Refinery in Blaine, Washington. Currently, the exact contract valve has not been disclosed.
Regarding the contract, Jacobs Group Vice President Mike Autrey has stated, “We are delighted to have the opportunity to support BP on this important project which builds upon our long term relationship at this world class facility.” A coker unit is an integral part of an oil refinery and is the processing unit that converts residual oil (from the vacuum distillation column) into low molecular weight hydrocarbon gases, heavy gas oils and petroleum coke.
