Boeing scores USAF tanker deal

The US Air Force has granted Boeing the $3.5 billion contract for 179 next-generation aerial refueling tanker aircraft. Under the contract, by 2017, Boeing is to design, develop, manufacture and deliver 18 initial combat-ready KC-46A wide-body, multi-mission aircraft said to be capable of meeting requirements for the transport of fuel, cargo, passengers and patients.
