Amec Foster Wheeler wins methanol plant contract

Yuhuang Chemical Inc. (YCI), a subsidiary of Shandong Yuhuang Chemical Company Ltd. (SYCC), has awarded Amec Foster Wheeler’s Global Power Group (GPG) a contract to supply an auxiliary boiler for a methanol facility under construction in St. James Parish, Louisiana, US.

GPG will design and supply a shop-assembled auxiliary boiler that will provide the equivalent of approximately 60 MW of high pressure steam for the first phase of YCI’s methanol facility. The scope of supply will also include the fan, ductwork, combustion system, heat recovery and selective catalytic reduction equipment to meet emissions requirements.
