Alliance Engineering awarded Gulfstar project

 
Williams Partners has awarded Wood Group’s Alliance Engineering with the detailed engineering and design of the topside facilities and deck for their Gulfstar FPS spar production platform. To be installed in block 768 of the Gulf of Mexico’s Mississippi Canyon are, it will produce oil and gas from the Hess Corporation and Chevron U.S.A. Inc.-owned, Tubular Bells field. Designed to process 60,000bpd of oil and 200MMscf of gas daily, the Gulfstar spar platform will weigh an estimated 7,000 short tons and be located in 4,300ft of water. The single-lift topsides will include processing equipment, utilities, seawater injection equipment, accommodation building with helideck and for the export of treated oil and gas through pipelines, pumping and compression equipment. The initial production on the spar is scheduled to begin in 2014.
