Badger Meter’s RCVcalc Makes Valve Sizing Easy

Badger Meter has recently introduced their new sizing software for Research Control® Valves (RCV). This software will adapt to the unique process requirements of a plant and will guide specifiers through selecting the right control valve for any project.

With more than 2,000 different media available and the ability to create customized media, plus automatic phase identification, RCVcalc provides accurate and meaningful valve sizing information to better reflect the system parameters of individual applications. RCVcalc enables users to graphically visualize their operation set points and review various trims and characteristics, which are dynamically filtered based on their selections. The software provides real-time scenarios to review trims and control points while considering the rangeability of each innervalve.

For low flow calculations, RCVcalc features advanced formulas to serve transitional and laminar flow situations. Leveraging the REFPROP package from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), RCVcalc provides direct access to predetermined thermodynamic equations of various fluid states providing higher accuracy for high pressure and/or low temperature applications.
