Fike, manufacturer of industrial safety products, has released the Ventex®: a flow actuated explosion isolation valve. The company describes the valve as a mechanical barrier against flame and pressure.
Unlike active explosion barriers, Flow Actuated Explosion Isolation Valves are closed by the force of energy supply, detectors or system controls. The Ventex® valves are designed to close in milliseconds providing a mechanical barrier against flame and pressure.
