The Swiss engineering firm ABB Group recently announced that it would buy General Electric’s business that provides circuit breakers and other electrical equipment for industry for USD $2.6 billion.
ABB, which is based in Zurich, intends to use the deal to broaden its electrification business globally, especially in North America.
The unit it is buying GE Industrial Solutions, which provides circuit breakers, transformers and power systems equipment for industrial operations like data centers and oil & gas installations.
