Chevron awards contract for Tigris, Anchor

US supermajor Chevron has awarded a contract for its Tigris and Anchor developments in the Gulf of Mexico to Wood Group, a multinational energy services company headquartered in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Wood Group will provide topsides conceptual and pre-FEED (front-end engineering and design) for the two semisubmersible platforms which will operate in 4,000 to 5,000 feet of water about 140 miles off Louisiana. The companies have worked together in the Gulf of Mexico before on projects including Jack and St Malo and Blind Faith.

The contract was awarded as part of a 10-year master services agreement which will see Wood Group providing conceptual engineering, pre-FEED, FEED and design and procurement services in locations across Chevron’s onshore and offshore portfolio.
