ATI linear actuators at BASF facility 20+ years

The BASF Corporation petrochemical complex in Port Arthur, Texas utilizes steam crackers to convert crude oil and natural gas feedstocks into ethylene, propylene, butadiene and other chemical building blocks.

The company completed a scheduled plant turnaround, replacing 32 ATI double-acting and spring-return linear actuators with new units. These will continue to be primarily used on Emergency Shutdown (ESD) service, proving fail-close capability in the event of a power failure.

ATI’s FrontLine Services group is also rebuilding a portion of the replaced actuators with new components. They will be available for future use by BASF.
