Rotork products receive LR approval

Rotork’s IQ3 intelligent electric valve actuators have received Lloyds Register Type Approval to Test Specification 1 (July 2015) for use in the marine industry. Rotork is a global giant in the actuator business, with multiple locations throughout North America.

The Lloyds Type Approval, which applies to three phase IQ3 actuators for isolating duties and the Rotork Pakscan digital control system, covers environmental categories ENV1 and ENV2, enclosed spaces, subject to humidity and vibration. The approval signifies the actuator’s immunity to signals created by other equipment operating on a vessel, and that the actuator will operate in an electrically noisy environment.
