The US is set to export a record number of cargoes of shale gas in November, 2016. Nine liquefied natural gas (LNG) tankers have departed or are scheduled to leave Cheniere Energy Inc.’s Sabine Pass terminal during the month, the most since exports began in February, 2016, according to ship-tracking data compiled by Bloomberg and Genscape Inc.
Sabine Pass has exported 40 cargoes totaling about 6.5 MMcmg since February, said Zach Allen, President of Pan Eurasian Enterprises, in a research note. Cheniere, which became the nation’s first and only exporter of shale gas in February, was cleared by US regulators in October to start loading tankers from a second plant at Sabine Pass.
