Motion Industries to open Dallas DC in 2017

Motion Industries, Inc., an industrial parts distributor and wholly-owned subsidiary of Genuine Parts Company, is building a new, expanded distribution centre (DC) near Dallas, Texas.
The facility is scheduled to open in March 2017, and will be managed by Dan Krska.

With a square footage of 156,000, the new facility will net the company almost 50,000 square feet over the current Dallas DC location and will house approximately 50,000 SKUs. The two-story office will include the DC’s offices, Motion’s Southwest division offices, a full-scale branch with retail space and an enhanced showcase area for visitors.

The build shop offerings of fluid power conversion, gearbox assembly, cut rails and shafting, and valve assembly will transfer from the current DC to the new facility. The Motion team plans to add a bore-to-size lathe and increased shafting and rail stock in the foreseeable future.
