Axalta Nap-Gard coating for pipeline protection

Axalta Coating Systems, a manufacturer of liquid and powder coatings, explained new enhancements to their Nap-Gard® family of coating products at the recent NACE Corrosion Expo in Vancouver earlier this month. The enhancements can be attributed to facility improvements, new product nomenclature and the introduction of new colors. Nap-Gard coatings provide a viable choice for valve coatings used in many different environments, ranging from drinking water to more demanding wastewater and saltwater applications, and are ideal for corrosion protection on rebar, used to strengthen concrete in the construction of highways and bridges.

Axalta representatives at the Expo described how recent enhancements at the company’s Houston, Texas facility streamlined manufacturing processes to more efficiently support customer needs. Booth displays included the new Nap-Gard 7-2500 series, which organized Axalta’s well-established FBE powder coatings into one product grouping and more clearly explained the benefits of its range of thermosetting epoxy powder products for both onshore and offshore oil and gas pipelines. Axalta also expanded its Nap-Gard 7-2514 EN series’ color options. Now available in green, this new color option increases Nap-Gard’s product offerings even further.
