MRC selling oil country tubular goods business

Houston-based MRC Global (MRC), provider of pipe, valves and fittings to the energy and industrial sectors, recently announced that it has signed an agreement to sell its oil country tubular goods business in the U.S. to Sooner Pipe for USD $48 million. The transaction will be completed in in the first quarter of 2016.

MRC provides ball, butterfly, gate, globe, check, needle, and plug valves; and other products, such as lined corrosion resistant piping systems, control valves, valve automation, and top work components, as well as steam and instrumentation products. The company also offers stainless steel and alloy pipes, and fittings; carbon steel fittings and flanges comprising carbon weld fittings, flanges, and piping components; carbon line pipes; and oil country tubular goods, such as casings and tubing pipes.

In addition, it offers natural gas distribution products, including risers, meters, polyethylene pipes and fittings, and various other components and industrial supplies; oilfield and industrial supplies and completion equipment; and specialized production equipment comprising meter runs, tanks, and separators.
