Val-Matic President & CEO Ted J. Makowan retiring

Val-Matic Valve & Manufacturing Corp. recently announced that Ted J. Makowan, President and CEO, will be retiring from Val-Matic on April 6, 2016 but will continue to serve on the  Val-Matic  Board of Directors. Makowan founded the company with Andy Nuter in Chicago in 1966 and will be retiring on the 50th anniversary of the company’s beginning.

During his tenure as Vice President of Sales and Marketing and eventually President and CEO, Makowan was instrumental in growing the company and championing the launch of fourteen new product lines and was awarded two valve patents. He built a robust sales network and marketing organization from the ground up and incorporated the latest technologies for communication and business operation. He led sourcing efforts in Asia thirty years ago resulting in one of the first global supply chains in the industry.
