For the first time since 2011, Nashville’s Water and Sewer Departments, Nashville Utilities, was able to end the year without having to borrow from other town funds. According to Town Manager, Scott Rudd, the Department was even able to maintain two months’ worth of cash reserved – approximately USD $150,000 for each month.
The surplus funds may be used to fund an estimated USD $70,000 project to install pressure-reducing valves on water lines to reduce breaks and boil orders. The project could start as soon as this Spring, Rudd said.
