Ontario-based Husky Injection Molding Systems recently won the Ringier 2015 Technology Innovation Award for the development of its Ultra Helix valve-gate technology and its contribution to production efficiency and cost effectiveness.
According to Husky, the design of Ultra Helix offers valve stem-to-gate-orifice concentricity, virtually eliminating mechanical wear on these components; a consistent thermal profile for improved balance performance and wide processing windows; and simplified machining for mold integration to reduce costs and shorten validation times.
The Ringier Technology Innovation Awards were presented by Ringier Trade Media Ltd.’s International Packaging News for China. The awards were launched in 2006 as a tribute to companies in key industries, such as food and beverage, packaging, plastics and metalworking.
