Saint-Gobain new seal automation machine

Saint-Gobain Seals, with operations in North and South America, has installed a new automation machine at their Willich, Germany site, which forms and assembles OmniSeal® spring-energized seals.

The automation machine manufactures spring-energized seal designs ranging from radial seals (rod seals and piston seals) to Spring II seals that are composed of Saint-Gobain Seals’ proprietary Fluoroloy® materials. Plans include creating more seals for other industrial applications such as valves.

In addition to making OmniSeal seals, the Willich site is known for their design and manufacture of Marathon® valves. Certified as USP Class VI compliant, Marathon valve diaphragms are manufactured using premium PTFE or modified PTFE under Class 1000 cleanroom conditions and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) process and are used in chemical and food processing.
